I have to give credit where credit is due. I was really impressed with Lufthansa Miles & More customer service this month.
I qualified for Lufthansa Senator status in 2010. Some background info, Miles & More runs on a 2 year elite qualification calendar so, upon my initial qualification in 2010, my status was valid until February 2013. Unfortunately, I did not requalify for Senator status, but was downgraded to Frequent Traveler.
In early March, I got a voicemail from Miles & More customer service stating that they have my Frequent Traveler card and they need an address to dispatch the card. I thought about it for minute and then quickly realized that I had moved in 2011 and did not update my address in my Miles & More profile when I moved, but how would they have known that my address was incorrect?
I returned their call and gave them my new address. I received my card within a week. Sure enough, when I looked at the card and letter, there was a sticker with my new address affixed on the letter covering my old address.
My guess is that they originally sent the card to my old address and it was returned to sender. They were very proactive in contacting me via phone to make sure they had my correct address and to dispatch the card again, this time to the correct address.
To some people this may sound like a small thing, but I think these types of actions are examples of great customer service.
